I know it's early to be ending my day, but I guess what I really mean is I am shutting down my computer now.
1. If America really wants someone who can reach across the aisle, we need to elect Sweet Adelines into office. This week is Sweet Adelines International competition in Honolulu, Hawaii. Unfortunately I cannot afford that so I have been watching the webcast. OMG I have cried so many times today! Anyway, I just watched the announcement of the top ten choruses and then the whole auditorium stands, joins hands, and sings our theme How We Sang Today. I sang along, of course, along with thousands of other women across the world, I am sure. Actually I am lucky SAI is in Hawaii this year so the time zone is not too bad. During the song, the cameras pan across an audience of thousands stretched across the aisles holding hands. SAI has over 25 thousand members all united in love of harmony and respect for each other.
2. I have this amazing hand lotion. It smells like gingerbread. I have had it for at least three years but I only use it occasionally. I am trying to make it last because it smells amazing. I always lotion my hands before I go to bed and I ask myself if it is a gingerbread lotion day. Days only qualify if they are rough and I am in need of comfort. Today I spent watching Sweet Adelines experience the time of their lives, competing on international stage while I sat alone in front of my computer leaking emotion. I think today is a gingerbread lotion day.
I leave you with the lyrics of the Sweet Adelines theme.
Tomorrow's another day. I hope and pray we'll be together. Tomorrow this today will be a yesterday that's gone forever. So take my hand, my friend, I want to say, I'm glad we laughed and loved and sang together today.
Harmonize the World
