Hockey was good today, let me tell you! The other side seemed to have the advantage, yes. However I just personally had a GREAT Day! I don't know if its my new stick, (which is actually too tall for me, but that can be fixed) or the fact that i got my skates sharpened, (yay edges!)or just that I was in a general good mood today...or all the above?!
But, I was in there, and even though i missed a few pases, I stayed out for a while, (long shifts) and at one point, I GOT A BREAKAWAY! Hahaha, i normally just get in the way of the other guys, try to MAKE them make a quick pass, hoping that they will mess up and throw it away. But this time, the puck hit my skate, he went forward, and I HAD THE PUCK! woo hoo! so I broke away, and well. Shot on the empty net. At least it went in, but according to the house rules, a goal is when it hits the empty nets post. Whatever. I am proud anyway!
What's more, before the game started, I pointed out someone who I hadn't seen before and dubbed him "the postman" because he was using Priority Mail tape for his shin pads. My buddy says "yeah, and watch out for his deliveries!!!" and THATS the guy I got a breakaway from! yay!
However, all was not well at the end of the game. I went to my locker room, and it was LOCKED! I was the only female playing today so no one else should have been in the locker room. So, needless to say, I was irritated that SOMEONE was in MY locker room , AND the door was LOCKED! "They could be rooting through my stuff !" Is what I was thinking. After beating down the door, and waiting around, some guy came swaggering out, and was like, "whats up? whats up?" yeah, not much buddy, you just locked yourself in the room with MY STUFF! jerk. The bathrooms are upstairs.
I also realized, once I got into the locker room, that i lost an earring, that my dad gave me for graduation. :(
The guys there were so nice as to melt the snow that was zambonied, to look for it. I didn't have time to stick around, so hopefully it will be waiting for me on Wednesday!
Thanks for listening!
