Let Your Expectations Go
Scorpio Daily Horoscope
Your thoughts about the coming year could make you feel both hopeful and restless today. Perhaps because you might have some feelings of anxiety about what is to come and concern about where your immediate personal plans can take you, it may seem that your expectations about the future are looming large on your horizon. Reminding yourself to let go of your expectations today can help you realize that no matter how much you plan and prepare for what is to come, you have little control over the outcome. Should you find yourself worrying, you might tell yourself that whatever will happen, will happen. Creating a short affirmation, a phrase that you can repeat throughout the day, may make it easier for you to remember this and also help you feel better about what the future holds for you, for you may find pleasant surprises in the unexpected.
Releasing our expectations for the future makes us more tolerant of ambiguity and opens us up to the unforeseen. If we can keep in mind that our fears about the future not only take us out of the present but also cause a lot of unnecessary worry, we may find it easier to set our intentions and then release those intentions into the universe. By letting go of your expectations today, you will be able to concentrate on what is happening in your life now, and will also notice a greater sense of overall wellbeing and peace of mind.

I'm pretty excited right now; I just bought a cover for my MacBook to keep it from getting (further) damaged. I wanted a black macbook, but they were WAY more expensive. While the keyboard and stuff will still be white, the visible outside part will be black. Basically my laptop will become a penguin, or an oreo. Either way you want to look at it. It should be here by Friday I think.
Teaching Statistics takes much more work to prepare for, but I find it more fulfilling, at least so far. Also, the fact that I get to use a computer with it makes it much more fun. I felt like I was falling out of touch with programming and other computer things, so this has helped me get back into it.
I've also been enjoying working out. The think I hate about working out is that you don't get to see the results for a loooong time and it kind of makes me want to give up. But, I won't. I'm trying to tell myself that I am working out to stay healthy, not to have the body of an Amazon goddess. So, we'll see if that keeps me better motivated.
