Saturday I spent all day (8:30 am until 5:30-6 pm) at an ultimate tournament where I played 6 games of ultimate in a row. I was exhausted. Sunday I spent all day trying to recover from Saturday, so I didn't go to the gym. I didn't go Monday morning because I have ultimate on Monday nights and didn't want to wear myself out before the game, which was good since I played most of the game. Tuesday I played ultimate at school and ran my butt off, so was again too tired to go to the gym afterward. Plus, I just didn't have time because I had to leave to go to work. So, no going to the gym yet. I have been exercising (playing ultimate) almost every day (all except Sunday) out in really hot weather and sweating my buns off. I guess that kind of counts, except that I'm not getting any weight training in. I have to figure out some schedule that will let me lift and not interfere with my ultimate schedule and still give my back time to recover from the muscle fatigue that inevitably comes with playing 1-2 hours of ultimate in 80+ degree heat. I should have gone today, but I went to physical therapy and my back is really hurting after that. It was hurting before I went and then on top of that I did some exercises/stretches that made it hurt worse. Maybe tomorrow morning I can convince myself to go? I also need to get back to doing research and studying for the qual. I have to take at the end of the summer. Ugh. I need to get a routine and stick with it.
