1) Do you feel that students in high school passed judgements on you for being in the band before exploring your character? Did that bother you?-- Absolutely they did, but no it did not really bother me persay. Most of the time I just laughed at the fact that most of these people had no clue what I was even about. I obviously had my "group" of friends and in them I found comfort and joy in my high school years. I would not change anything about my time at Kelly, although most only knew me as the " band geek" and never really took the time to get to know me, I smiled at everyone and let them think what they wanted because in the end I was doing what made me happy and what they thought didnt matter. I knew that I was talented in high school far more than any of you ever knew about, but I also was not all about making sure everyone knew about mt accomplishments like some were.. You know i really feel that our senior class as a whole had more respect for each other than any other class because I honestly dont remember a time when i was made fun of (aside from joking) for being in band.. We all had out own things going for us and we also had equal respect for each other.
2) Do you believe that growing up in church influenced your decisions about choices you made as you entered college? How so?-- Obviously the answer is yes. If one grew up in church and that background didnt influence your decisions then why have you been in church for the past eighteen years...I mean after all if you are a christian its all or nothing for God, and I know that you Agree with me, as you have grown up in church also. I consulted God with many aspects of my future college life and though all didnt work out for me at TN Tech i know that I had to go because God has a plan for me and my life and maybe music is not it. i have struggled a ot with the decisions i have made in the past year and im not so sure that some of those werent the wrong ones but you know i once heard, that either path you take in your life if youre a christian then you will end up where God wants you to be wheather you take the straight path or there are a few more stops along your way. All I can really say is that I have just trusted in God to help me make the right decisions thus far!
3) If you had the opportunity to move to a large city to become famous for your musical talent, would you leave Wise County for it?-- well yes i think i would for the chance of a life time, wise co will always be home but there is so much more to see and do that are not all wrapped up in these mountains. To be a famous musician would be amazing and I would have to tell you my little secret. That has always been my dream, to sing. i think that most of you didnt even know that i could sing. but i think that maybe that oppertunity will come for me one day maybe i will be famous and live the hollywood life, but if not thats alright also because life right here in the appalachians isnt all that horrible!
4) Is there something you've ever done in your life that you regret or wish you could have handled differently?--Oh yes there is... I wish now that I wouldnt have left college to come home!!! it was a mistake, but out of that mistake i found the love of my life and am now at this point making plans for my wedding. But sometimes i wish i wouldnt have thrown away my whole musical future. But thats life you life make mistakes and learn from them!
5) I know that you are a Christian girl. How do you handle all the temptations of everyday life?-- It is deffinately hard sometimes and i have to admit that I do falter, but dont we all. But most of the time i just think of what awaits me in heaven and how much more valuable eternal life is to me!!!
hope you enjoyed!
