"...Who fell into you at a quarter to two
With a tear in your eye for the Fourth of July
For the patriots and the minutemen
And the things you believe they believed in then
Such as freedom, and freedom’s land
And the kingdom of God and the rights of man
With the tiny tin voice of the radio band
Singing, 'Love Must Stand.'
Love forever and ever must stand."

- James Taylor, "On the Fourth of July"

1776-2006: 230 years and counting.

Say what you will about the current state of our country; that is, in fact, your right. Said right is one of many reasons why I myself remain steadfast in my love for the United States of America, my pride in calling it home, and my hope that we will someday be truly united behind the ideals declared on that sweltering day in Philadelphia.

May this great "experiment" continue, ever compassionately mindful of the principles upon which it was founded.
