Grr.. fine, then, dammit! I'll forfeit my work for the day to please you, just be quiet. ¬_¬
While Zakk was out slaughtering, Outsider and Suki were becoming acquainted, and Saxx and Myrriak were out doing whatever it was they set out to do, another person entered the realm of importance in this story. The peasant girl that Saxx had thrown down the day prior, Gabriel.
Her family dead, what few friends she had dead as well, she had nothing. She'd lead "Nameless" to the Hakai Senpuu on a whim, not even realizing the events she'd set into motion for Nameless in doing so. She wandered around aimlessly, unsure of where to go or what to do.
She was merely a five-and-a-half foot tall peasant girl, with long, dirt-covered black hair. She had some sword-arts training that her father had taught her; unlike most people of this time, he felt that a woman was not a possession of sorts, but rather had a modernistic view that they were their own person. She was grateful for what little she learned, but with no more applicability for it, and with a lack of a teacher now, her innate prowess was, it seemed, going to be wasted away.
'No,' she thought. 'I'll find that Saxx guy.. he was amazing. He can teach me.' She figured it was possible for him to refuse her, even kill her; but if it came to that, then, what else did she have to live for if he refused?
She had followed after him since he'd left, keeping track of the tell-tale signs of their passing. She came through the valley, and watched Outsider and Suki talking quietly; she wondered what they were talking of, but she didn't intrude.
'If he isn't with him anymore, then he's of no use to me.' She thought to herself, and continued on. She followed a pair of footprints in the dirt out of the valley. She assumed one pair might've been Zakk's, but since the feet were much smaller than the other prints, she was doubtful.
As she came out of the valley, she walked through a narrow pass between some rocks, through a makeshift road. As grass began to sprout out along the roadway, she became a little more hopeful. Greenery, nature, even most animals seemed to sooth her soul. She turned a curvy corner, the beginnings of a jade forest before her. She took a step forward, only to be greeted with a blade swiftly pressed to her throat. Her eyes traced the blade and up the arm of a young, dirty boy. He was younger than herself, she could see, but his eyes beheld a dark glaze, one that only a warrior of black heart could possess. His eyes tried to pierce through her, but she'd had a rough life as well; he could not intimidate her in any way.
"Who are you?" The boy demanded.
"That's no way to speak to a lady." Gabriel responded dryly.
"Myrriak! What's going on?" Saxx called from behind several trees. He walked out, taking large strides over the bushes and foilage, a bloody animal carcass in his hands. Gabriel squirmed slightly, and Myrriak's blade fastened against her throat.
"This girl just came stumbl-" Myrriak started.
"Haha.. Gabriel." Saxx said, cutting him off with a laugh.
"You know her?" Myrriak said, his attention turned to Saxx for just a moment. In that short moment, Gabriel's hidden knife shot up and knocked the blade away as she fell back. She caught herself with her free hand, rolled away, and jumped right back up. Myrriak shot a glance at her, his eyes filled with black fury.
Saxx laughed.
"So, the peasant girl can defend herself?" He said mockingly. "What do you want, girl? Be concise, or be gone." He ordered as he sat the animal on a stump. A crude bucket of water sat next to it, and he reached for it while waiting for her response.
"You and your friends destroyed the village. I have nothing left. Now, I've sought you out, so that you might teach me how to fight as you do." she said. As the words came out, she felt that they were small, meaningless. Saxx frowned, and stopped washing the animal's blood from its thrashed body.
"You came here, barefoot and in half the time we did, just to ask me something that you should well know I might kill you for? Why?" He replied.
"I had little in my life but learning how to fight. Very few things gave me pleasure, and that gave me the most of all." She said, again feeling small. Saxx stood up slowly, his muscles moving smoothly under his garments. He strode to her, his motions quick and concise. He was upon her quickly, fast enough to cause her to step back on instinct. He looked down, staring into her eyes.
"Tell me. What do you hope to accomplish with what I might teach you?" He said; it was unspoken, but they both understood what he meant. How she answered would determine if he would indeed train her.
"I.. I don't know." She said, her voice small and slightly quivering. Saxx smiled broadly, and nodded.
"I don't know if it's really a good idea, but I guess I can go ahead and show you what I know." He said. Her face lit up immediately; her dark eyes brightened, and she smiled widely. She wasn't sure what made her so happy to have this purpose, but she jumped up and hugged him tightly. He laughed a little, unsure as to why she'd burst out like this, he just hugged her back. Myrriak was extremely confused, and said nothing...
(More later, okay? If you keep badgering me, I might hafta "smack a bitch!" -.-
