These walls are paper-thin. Whenever our next-door neighbors play music--and they do it a LOT--it comes through on our side pretty loud. I've been woken up that way. It's not a happy way to wake up.
Today my roommate finally brought in his 27" TV to replace my little 13". Problem is, it doesn't have any audio-video inputs, so we can't play games or watch movies with it yet. I solved that problem temporarily by moving my TV to the opposite side of the room, next to the doorway facing into the room. Then we decided we liked it that way, so we hooked up some coaxial cable to both sets, and now we have two TVs in our room. Mine is still the only one that works for movies and games, but hopefully we'll get a crappy old VCR or something to route cables through to the big set.
This morning I was having a great dream. I don't remember what exactly was happening...I know it involved my cousins from Long Beach and some random people from UCLA. But I remember being declared the champion of something, and everyone being excited and happy for me, and I was stoked. I woke up for a moment, still basking in the glory--then I realized my cell phone alarm hadn't gone off. In that instant my stomach dropped, and I looked at my watch, hoping it was still early enough to make my 10 AM class.
Of course, it was exactly ten o'clock.
I jumped out of bed, got dressed and brushed my teeth extremely quickly, and rushed out the door. You have to understand: there was a homework assignment due at the beginning of class, and my math professor has been notoriously unforgiving for people who come in late on homework days. During the fifteen minutes it took to traverse the entire campus on my way to Bunche Hall, I mentally prepared myself for getting zero credit. Then I finally made it to the classroom and pushed open the door. The whole room full of students shifted their attention to me, but as I stepped in, I didn't see the professor paying any attention. Quietly I added my homework to the top of the pile, went to the back and sat down.
I hope he didn't mind. I really REALLY worked hard on that assignment, and it would be so lame to get a zero for that reason.
(edit: It turns out I never actually turned the alarm on last night. Whoops...)
By the way, I got my Physics 1A petition back and found out it was approved. That's pretty bonus.
