love in literature

I feel like I am floating. Love, life, literature, and the Lord. I couldn't be happier. Clarity.

I'm reading Donald Miller's "Through Painted Deserts" right now, which was his first book that he rewrote and published in 2005. So much of my heart in this book. So much of my heart in the movie "Elizabethtown." Here's a quote from just the author's note, I love how he describes the Northwest:

"It is fall here now, my favorite of the four seasons. We get all four here, and they come at us under the doors, in through the windows. One morning you wake and need blankets; you take the fan out of the window to see clouds that mist out by midmorning, only to reveal a naked blue coolness like God yawning."

and here's a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that I found tonight and also love!

"it is a cold, lifeless business when you go to the shops to buy me something that does not represent your life and talent,"

and I also love this quote from Anais Nin (qtd. in Captivating)

"Then the time came when the risk it took
To remain tight in a bud was more painful
Than the risk it took to bloom."
