I think you just like to make fun of anything that you don't support. I can't recall a single conversation I've had with you where you've said, 'well I don't really like ______, but I definitely have respect for it anyway.' actually, i like to make fun of everything, whether i 'support' it or not. am i not allowed to make fun of things now? 'cause i didn't get that memo.

and i do like some country. i just sort of find it amusing that the word "academy" is used to describe a group of people that often wear cowboy boots, flannel, and hats in their performances. much in the same way i mentioned that i would find the idea of an "Academy of Rap Music" or the "Institute of Boy Bands" or the "Pop Music Colloquium" or other such things amusing. since "academy" kind of connotes higher study, what with the whole "academia" thing (though yes, 'academy' has been coopted somewhat). and country music, oddly enough, is the music that grew out of the american countryside. the proletariat, so to speak. the historically on-the-average less educated. you know? those parts where farms are the big thing, and higher education historically wasn't considered that vital? the kind of places that give kids days off school for the start of hunting season? and please do note that i ( ... )
