Well, time for my every-now-and-then post.
Finally finished 100% my go-kart. It's been 3 summers, but I have learned so much out of this project. I'm pretty sure I can weld on my own now, my mechanical ability has multiplied, it's all pretty sweet. But not as sweet as bombing down the access road to the quarry, getting air off the rolls in the trail. It's a really bouncy ride, though. The back end was bouncing all over the place when I landed from getting some pretty sweet air. Blew out the end of the torque converter though. The end cap is made out of aluminum. I think the drive belt got caught, the engine tugged on it, and the threads sheared off of the end cap. $28 part to replace, not bad. The company I order from is in Mass, about 1.5 hours away, but too far to drive to today.
I also (finally) start a job tommorw. I've been trying to hook up an internship since I got out of school. Going to be working at my Dad's company with the Environmental Health and Safety people. Kinda what I want to do, not sure, but the experience of working is what I'm looking for. And a little money, that too :P . Gotta drive down to Newton, MA to start at 8:30 tomorrow. I have a nagging feeling traffic is gonna suck something awful. We'll see.
Need to find out when the Manchester Blues festival thing is, I don't know if it is this or next weekend. It's 2 nights this year, and Room Full of Blues is playing the second night (SWEET!). Gotta try to get to at least that, but tickets for both nights are only $15. Hopefully it's next weekend, not sure though.
So my summer is slowly ramping up, very slowly, but I am obtaining things to do. No more sitting around in my house, haha. Yay go-kart!
