Over the past few weeks I've ordered many 7" records. Some of which are rare, and have extreme sentimental value to me. As they come I will share which I received because I truly can't remember all of them. I received The Locust/Melt Banana split on clear and Against Me-Crime this week. And today, I received one that I spent the most money on. I received Orchid's first self titled 7". This is the first pressing, not tour edition though, but first pressing. It is on clear vinyl. It was numbered to 1000. It was released on Hand Held Heart Records. The monetary value of this record is completely irrelevant, however. I set my sight on this record on ebay mostly because this small piece of vinyl contains a song which is my favorite Orchid song that was not released on their full length LPs. 36 Day Syndrome. It can be found on Orchid-Totality, which is a compliation of all of their 7"s and unreleased tracks not on LP. Few tracks stand out in my mind. But this song I absolutely love. And I made sure I won it. As lame as this sounds, Orchid and the bands in the similar genre to this band has really changed my outlook on things. For months these bands have helped me in situations, just within my head. I owe it to the music. As lame as this sounds, it's coming from my heart. I love Orchid. Yes, they have been broken up since 2002 and I've never seen them live, which angers me everyday, cause it bothers me when people absolutely love a band that they have never seen live. But I basically have no control over this, due to my ignorance to acutal good music until this year. Well, not really like, the only good music, but the only music that really has the affect on me to touch me in the most serious ways. But yes, I think, by my constant posts about this band, and my perserverance to gain as much knowledge about this band I can safely say I love them.

And I can't believe I turned the purchasing of a 7" record into a rant like this. Oh well.
