This weekend was one of the best I've had in a while.
Friday I hung out with Mike from Livingston. He picked me up and then me, him, this girl michelle, and this girl kristen went to the carnival. Stayed there for about five minutes then left. Then we saw Jess and her friend Kim. Kim actually worked at funplex before and is really annoying. After that we drove to the willowbrook mall. Played a few games at the arcade and just hung around there. Then we drove to Montclair, got lost, and encountered many random gas station attendants. Finally got to Montclair and went to Cafe Eclectic and just relaxed there. Then we came home. Fun and eventful night.
Saturday I had a frisbee tournament. Seems to be the primary sport that I play nowadays. Ultimate frisbee that is. And we lose in the first round. But it's all good. We threw the disc around for a little and then Trevor asked if I wanted to come to his barbecue that night. Attended that and enjoyed myself. Spent a lot of time talking to Ben Kelly. Then went home.
I remember the previous two days being mentioned about daughters playing in Hoboken. Mike and Ben mentioned them and so I had two rides. After much switching of plans, I went with Mike and Jess and had a great time. Fortunately, Daughters weren't the only good band playing. This band Read Yellow blew me away. And Nate from Converge's other band played, and they weren't bad. But I didn't love it. Daughters came on and had a drunken set. Twas a lot of fun, but extremely sloppy, instrumentally. They are both new guitarists, so I guess I wasn't expecting the same things. It was difficult to distinguish songs cause of the sloppiness. But I remember a few and enjoyed them. And I was able to pick up the Read Yellow album and I finally got my hands on the first Daughters 7". Got lost on the way home, and arrived here at around 1 a.m. Woke up exhausted and had a long day at school. But I"m tired now and I'm gonna sleeeep.
