read this. One of the best J2 historical romances I've ever read. Heck, it's one of the best historical romances ever, a novel in its own right. Set in the Regency period, it's a love story between the quiet and reserved John Acklebury, artist and son of a clergyman, and Viscount Penrith, whose reputation as a rake precedes him wherever he goes. It's a love story that's fraught with conflicts and uncertainties and conducted in secret in a society that frowns upon such relationship. Read it even if J2, AU or otherwise is not really your thing as this can be easily read as an original story. And don't let the the word count scare you off, because trust me, once you begin, 200K+++ would seem short and you'd end up craving for more!
Note : The story is a WIP but the end is near and the author, bless her, updates regularly. It's currently at 40/42 and I'm devastated at the thought of the final chapter as I don't want the story to end!
