so i'm almost completely unpacked! i worked on stuff for like 4 hours last night AND i did laundry in my newly purchased washing machine. how sad is it that i was so excited to get it? i mean, it's a washing machine. BUT, it means so many good things...1. no more having to scrounge for quarters, 2. no more having to haul my laundry down to the apt. laundry center, 3. no more having to worry about people stealing my clothes from said laundry center, 4. no more having to do 5 loads at a time in the laundry center. if i want to just wash a load sometime during the week, it's done.
so i was unpacking this knife set that i bought a few weeks ago, and i'm unwrapping each knife and putting it in the space where it's supposed to go in the block. when i get down to the end, i have an extra paring knife with no space for it, and i'm missing a steak knife. sooo...i had to re-wrap all the freakin' things and take them back to the store today.
i'm finally starting to feel settled. all that's left is to hang pictures and stuff, unpack some books and a couple other boxes if i can think of somewhere to put the contents, and then do some organizing.
i can't believe i didn't post about last weekend, so i'm going to remedy that now. i went to louisville with carrie and meredith. purpose: casting call for extras for the movie "elizabethtown," starring orlando bloom. carrie thought it would be great if at least one of us could get cast as an extra and possibly have a sighting of mr. bloom sometime during filming. so we drove the 3 hours up there. we got there an hour later than planned, b/c nobody remembered they were on eastern time, but the movie people were still there. but, they had ran out of the forms to fill out with your info, so they weren't taking any more people, but you could send a picture and the info. to this address they had written up on a big poster on the wall. so we drove a total of 6 hours for a freakin' address. but it was still fun, one of those "everyone should do this at least once in their lives" kind of thing.
