So yea, people don't appreciate my pretty new layout posts so I decided to make a long post.
On Wednesday I wen to the information session for Mass Academy. You know how sometimes things look great and the more you find out about it the more you realize it wasn't so great? Completely opposite with this. I am so excited. Everyone seemed really nice and my friend and I were the only people who knew each other so I'm not the new girl, I'm one of the only 2 with a friend. Also they have this thing planned for the first week of school where we all go to Cape Cod (free) and do activities to get to know each other better. Not stupid activities like trust fall and say one insecurity in front of these people you've never met before but more like how to best put these boats together to travel across the harbor the fastest and then race! I love water! The school seems great too. Extremely difficult but it looks like they have fun too. We have to do this research project on whatever we choose and do experiments and stuff. There's a science fair in February and we have to have it finished by then. It's a lot more serious than it sounds, if it's an invention you get a patent but you have to build a prototype and write a paper, and if it's just research you still have to make a poster board and write the 30 page paper. If you do really well they give you free tickets to the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) which next year is in New Mexico. If you do well there you get a gift basket which includes a free ipod and if you win you get a $100,000 scholarship. So it's a pretty serious project. There's this one kid this year who studied math trends in jazz and rock music so I'm hoping to do something with bagpipes. Something like, what is the optimal set of bagpipes and how factors like different woods, bags and size of drones affect the sound. Sorry. I'm just really excited, I babble when I'm this excited about something.
Tomorrow night is our "Night With the Kiltie Band" and I'm also really excited about that. Then on Sunday we have another parade and I really hope it doesn't rain.
On a completely random note our neighboors have llamas to guard their sheep. Today when I was walking the dogs one of the llamas started running at us and screeching. The dogs were so scared. They just tried to slink by the attack llama without being noticed. It was cute.
Also, I got a Mass Academy Sweatshirt, pajama pants and t-shirt. Only the t-shirt didn't have to be pre-ordered so I wore it to school yesterday. Hee.
