ugh

Monday I had called a property owner for a site I needed to visit, and he gave me a number of the person who's in charge of opening the gate to the street, so I had called and set up to meet him there this morning. He wanted me to give him a call on my way or when I left so he had time to meet me there. So just before getting on the freeway I call the guy and let him know I'm leaving and how long it would take me. I'm halfway there and one of his employees calls me about why I had called, so I had told him I spoke with his boss about getting in today. He said he and the other employees were never told, and it sounded like the guy I talked to completely forgot about our conversation. on Monday. So the employee I talked to and I were both going to try get ahold of the owner today and work it out (the employee said they were told they aren't supposed to open the gate for anyone). So I'm waiting to hear back. I think I may have forgotten to leave my number this morning so I'll call later and leave that. I know there are horse trails up to the top but I can't find any maps of them online.

It also seems I have gotten a cold from one of the boys. Nose is messed up and I got a headache, which explains why I've not been able to focus well the last couple days. Speaking of the boys, I got some pictures of Superman and the cutest puppy dog to post. My computer or rather Windows Explorer was giving me attitude last night otherwise I'd have them up last night. I guess I need to burn some of them, all those hi-res photos frying it's little brain.

Before I had asked about hard drives, according to my brother, Maxtors are lasting best for desktops, and Hitatchi I think for laptops (that or Fujistu, can't remember exactly, but it's one of the lesser known Asian sounding named companies). Anyone have any input on dvd drives? I want to price one to use as a region 2 drive to watch UK stuff on the computer and hopefully cap things (if I can find a free capping program that actually works). There's only $10 difference in a ROM versus RAM so I'll consider both. Saw a Lacie on NewEgg but it's got that lightscribe thing so it's 2-3x the price of ones without (I'm a sharpie queen, so $40-50 for a etching feature is unneeded when have $2 pen). I have a Sony Rom and Phillips RAM, while they work, I'm not overtly thrilled as are more likely to import music files with noise when I import into Itunes, while my external LaCie cd-rw doesn't.

random note: Outlook is a punk. just by opening the program, it resets itself as the default email client

da boys, technology, work
