On the ABC evening news: the US populaltion will hit 300 million people soon. They're predicting it will be Tuesday morning, a boy born in California to a Latina mother. Interesting they can get that specific in their guess.
I guess I had a fairly productive weekend. Tried to get the 1940s Pride and Prejudice that just came out on DVD since Borders had a decent coupon, but we (me and the employee that was helping me) couldn't find the one copy in the store. That turned out well because she put in an order for it (but said wasn't available from their distributor) but she was going to keep looking for the copy and have the DVD head keep a look out. She also got them to prolong the coupon for a month longer on the movie if they find it or get the order in in that time. Then had to run to TJs (Trader Joes) for cat tuna food, where I also found my yogurt in stock (half the time they're out of the honey greek style). Since both were about gone. But I also actually got some clean up done. Sorted the month worth of the folks mail into importance groupings, shredded the junk, took out the recycleables, and stacked the pieces from the newspapers I kept for them. I'm going to put off stuff like washing the countertops and vacumning until a day or two before they get back. Plus our theme trees are flowering so the dog is always tracking them into the house.
And I've sort of started on my room some. Mostly because I needed to find my password for one of my credit cards that I knew had a little bit on it but hadn't gotten the bill for it. The trick will be to sort through the stuff on the bed before I go to sleep so I won't have to shift it around. Ehck, I just hate cleaning. Really are better things to do with the time.
I just finished the first episode of Eureka. I think that will be a keeper. Now I can spend some time this week working through all the other episodes I tivo'd. It's about a town thats a haven for the nation's top scientists and has a super secret research facility.
Oh, and anyone out there who's a fan of the old Doctor Who, can you tell me what episode/movie Tom Baker started in the roll? After Friday's episode I'm curious to see how Sarah Jane and the Doctor got on. I loved how she and Rose got to trading tales. K-9 kind of reminded me a bit Johnny 5. I wonder if that's where the got the idea (for Johnny 5)?
eureka,
