Nothing interesting

So I had two days at Trexlertown before my vacation (which was scheduled months in advance and has nothing to do with the layoffs) started yesterday. I really like the location so far. It's a good team, and I know a lot of the people from previous stores. I'm working under the same store manager that I had in Quakertown. He gave me my review on Wednesday and it was the best one I've received in this company. It says nothing negative or critical, and it says that I've drastically improved in the areas that I needed to work on last time (such as projecting confidence to customers and dealing with escalated situations). So, perhaps I will keep my job. I'm still not counting on anything, given the fact that they desperately want all the CCRs to be replaced with sales reps. But I have a little more hope for remaining employed, at least for the time being.

Yesterday was kind of a sucky day. My car was in for service again and when I picked it up, the tab was $830. Now, everything that was wrong with it should be fixed. I am crossing my fingers.

I finished reading The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff, which was an enjoyable read. Looking back, there were bits and pieces of the story that could be edited or improved upon (at least in my humble opinion), but I really liked it and I highly recommend it. Reading a lot makes me want to write: a possibility now that I got my new laptop cord (the cats chewed through the last one). I have a character who came to me in a dream, but I always have an abundance of characters spinning around in my head... and no plots to speak of.

I am currently at my parents' house. Their drooling, geriatric cat Sissy is in my lap. She's actually being pretty still though (she has a tendency to walk in circles). My sister and I are going to bake cookies together, in theory. She's waiting for the dishwasher to be finished.
