Total lameness of the Jess sort

I have come to the conclusion that I am a lot better at feeding my pets than feeding myself. My cats get human-grade cat food (both dry and canned) and my rats get a home-made diet with a large percentage of organic ingredients. Most of it gets ordered on the internet. (When it comes to myself, I think, "hmm, I'm hungry. I guess I'll go to Sheetz." I buy groceries, but  I forget that half the stuff is even there until it goes bad. I found some really disturbing bananas on top of the fridge tonight...)

There's a lot of cat/rat food jealousy going on here. The other day, I realized with great horror that the rats were down to two yogies (yogurt treats). I had four tubs of them rush-delivered. The cats were very upset that something came in the mail which wasn't for them. So, when I ordered their food tonight, I also ordered two different kinds of organic treats. When I was making another batch of the rats' food mix tonight, Lupin became very interested in it. I put the dish on the floor just to reassure him that there was nothing he wanted in there, but he started fishing out Harlan Teklad blocks and trying to eat them. I don't know why; they're entirely vegetarian! I think Lupin is a crackhead.

I discovered the awesomest thing ever for iTunes: TuneUp (www.tuneupmedia.com). If you have files with unknown name/artist/etc. it will actually identify them for you, give you cover art, concert updates, etc. Even for the obscure shit. I downloaded it and started cleaning up my files, then my computer got all stupid on me again. (On a regular basis, the screen will freeze or go blank. I will be unable to shut the computer off, so I have to let it run out of charge completely and plug it back in again. I used to just take the battery out, but for some reason, the battery door will no longer open).

Stephy came over, and she has a friend who fixes computers for a living. I talked to him on the phone and he's coming over tomorrow night to try to fix it, though he believes it may be a mechanical/power source issue. He says there may be an acid leak which has caused the battery door to seal,  which could cost hundreds to fix, and I might be better off getting a new computer. I'm so annoyed, because I just bought the freaking laptop last year! I really feel like I should be saving money, so I really don't want to buy a new one. Sigh...

Off to the grocery store, for bananas which hopefully WON'T decay on top of the fridge...
