Okay, so my dad is out of the hospital. Tests have determined that there is nothing wrong with his heart and the next course of action is an ultrasound on his gallbladder. Surgery for that might suck, but it's still a lot less scary than heart disease.

Before my dad went into the hospital, I bought a car: a 2003 yellow dodge neon. Yeah, it's only a few steps up from what I had previously, but it's affordable for now (as far as the monthly payments and the insurance). I made my down payment and was going to sign for it on Thursday, but that got delayed until today because my dad had to sign over the old neon.

I've been dealing with medical stuff, too. I finally grew a pair and went back to the doctor to see what was up with my thyroid and other endocrine stuff. They're also checking for B12 deficiency because I've been a vegetarian for 10 years and I have some of the symptoms. They took four vials of blood, and also (at my request) gave me a prescription for Paxil to take the edge off of my day-to-day anxiety. I am following up on the test results in a week and then they're referring me to an Endocrinologist. In the meantime, I got a home blood pressure cuff to prove that my BP isn't always 192/88. That only happens when I'm freaking out about being at the doctor.

In-between all the running around today, Rebecca got her drivers permit. I am very proud of her; she's done so much lately that is worthy of celebration. (She's also officially done with grad school!)
