Adventures in trying to sleep

Jun 03, 2007 02:21

I just spent two days with my girl. Somehow, trying to sleep is always an adventure for us. The first time we shared a bed, I started talking to her in a half-asleep dream-like state about living across the street from a can factory in Montana, and sticky lizards.

On Thursday night it was apparently her turn to keep me awake by saying cracked-out things. She woke me up to say, "meat on a quotation platter," and "lasagna on a quotation platter." At the time, these were very pressing thoughts. She woke me up again because I was patting her arm in my sleep and I guess it was getting annoying. And she woke me up at least three times to tell me she had a dream. Before she could actually tell me what the dream was, I fell back asleep and when we were both actually awake and coherent, she couldn't remember the dream anymore.

Last night, we were both really tired. She woke me up because there was someone walking around outside her apartment. It was most-likely one of her family members, but at the time, we were both contemplating how the chairs beside the couch bed could be utilized as weapons in the event of a break-in. Fun times.

It is so, so great to be with her though.

And let it be said that Robata of Tokyo has the freshest, most exquisite and delicious sushi dishes I have ever enjoyed.

rebecca, sushi, sleep (or lack thereof)
