Good, happy things
1. My vet is not an ass-rapist. Apparently the exam is routine prior to any kind of surgical procedure just to make sure the cat is okay to handle it. In addition to the exam, Dexter got a booster shot and two doses of a broad-spectrum de-wormer. All of this costed $87 in all. The last two vet bills I've seen were over $200, so this is very, very reasonable. Dexter is going to be neutered on Thursday, which is a big relief.
2. While cleaning, I found both a 2 GB and a 512 MB memory card. I did not find my USB cable, but I was able to purchase a memory card reader (which is faster than a USB cable and universal) for only $20. Fair enough.
3. I've made more headway on packing. Only a week until we move... EEK!
