Hooray for finally moving into my dorm.
It's pretty fantastic, my room is better and larger than I thought it would be. It entails a spacious common room, bedroom, three walk in closets, and a marble bathroom with a large tub. All for two people. There are only four rooms on my whole floor, and just about 30 Freshmen in the building. There's one other girl on the floor in a single and five guys in two suites. My roommate is quite nice and similar to myself which makes things a lot easier. Some high points of the day:
X My father deciding that it is absolutely necessary for me to have satellite TV in my dorm room, meaning Tivo will remain a fixture in my life.
X Dropping a carton filled with heavy things directly on my big toe in such a fashion as to cause severe bleeding and an imminent trip to the Harvard Health Services Office.
X A member of the Harvard football team living on my floor, thus providing someone to watch NFL Sunday ticket with.
X Our proctor baking us cookies.
X Eating in a dining hall which is the spitting image of the Great Hall in Harry Potter.
X Moving out of my house.
So, all in all, a successful first day. There are some orientation events occuring this week. However, as we really don't start classes until the first week of October I'm pretty much chilling here until the end of the month. If anyone desires to be graced with my presence and view my dorm room, roll on into Harvard Square.
