It's a lovely evening in Affy and It's my first time playing online in a few days. Make that weeks. We've been super busy just getting settled. I'm pretty happy I'm here. I've seen the damages of the Soviet invasion first hand and now I think I have a better understanding of what kind of trauma the Afghani people have suffered.
We actually flew into the country on Christmas Eve. It was about 11:30 PM. Let me tell you it is an interesting experience flying in a C-17. Espeacially since my row of seats weren't exactly stable. Christmas day was spent adjusting a little to our new home and learning more about the things NOT to do. There's a huge list.
I moved into a little plywood structure that contains about 8 rooms. Two of which don't have doors and I had no choice but to stay in one for the first day. Things are good now. Some of the other girls moved out so I got a fabulous room with a very nice green rug. There was also a head scarf left behind for our use and a plethera of tools.
I've started to figure out what kind of things I'm going to need from home. One of them is mouse defenses. Raid has a new plug in that I think would be very nice. Right now the rodent problem isn't so bad. But I'm afraid to think of what it'll be like in the summer. We live right next to the dumpster.... that sums it up i think.
I'm going to try to keep this updated as best I can.
Until then....
