So I’m at Dulles air port sitting here waiting for my flight to depart so I can be on my way to KY. My parents drove me and were sure to leave extra early because it’s supposed to be one of the busiest travel days of the year. We left at 4am and there was little traffic so it took us an hour to get here… not 2 like they said. I have 3 hours to kill now before my flight. Getting through the security check point went fairly smooth however I had anxiety because I am borrowing a back pack from my friend. I wanted one that could fit a lap top and a few other things for my carry on and my back pack wouldn’t fit all the stuff I wanted. To my delight my friend had one I could borrow that had a special compartment for a lap top, cords, and any thing else you wanted to bring such as books, magazines…. You get the idea. So as I’m talking to him on the phone he says that I can borrow it and that he had gotten it from another mutual friend. He said that our other friend had used it to carry explosives in and that the last time he took it to the air port it set off the alarm and he was “questioned”.
Me- WHAT! Are you serious??
S- Yeah, I went through the metal detector thing and it went off so they had to search it and I had to take all of my stuff out. Then they put it through again and the alarm still went off so they took me to this private room and there were a few officials in there talking when finally this woman came over to me and asked if I knew why I was there. I said I had no idea and then she told me that the alarms kept going off and they had to make sure it didn’t contain any explosive materials in it. Then she started asking me if I had transported any explosives in it in the past or fire works, ammunition…. I said no and then she said that sometimes when the machine gets dirty it reads false positives and that their going to go clean it then put the bag through again and if it comes back negative then sorry for the inconvenience, enjoy your flight. However, if it comes back positive again you’re going to have a lot of explaining to do. Thankfully it came back negative and I got on my flight.
Me- HOW COULD ROB HAVE GIVIN YOU THE BACK PACK KNOWING YOUD USE IT ON A PLANE WHEN HES CARRIED EXPLOSIVES IN IT!

S- hahahahahaha I was kidding about the explosives, the machine was just dirty that’s why it went off. I’ve used it plenty of other times without any problems, you should be fine.

I was fine but I was still nervous. Thankfully my flight is going to board in about 30 min now. It seems I have beaten most of the crowds here at least, we shall see how it is in Dayton.
