The latest novel authored by anti-happiness author, Chuck Palahniuk, noted for his works "Fight Club", "Choke", and "Survivor", is entitled "Butt: An Exploration".
The synopses I have found mostly read as follows:
Collin Holson is a man that is troubled by the country he sees around him. Spurred on by the rifts he sees in the country over warfare, terrorism, and race issues, he takes a journey from Portland to Washington, DC. In doing so, he picks up a woman named Essence, who chooses not to speak, but communicates in strange hand gestures.
As they travel the hills and valleys of the nation, they slowly find themselves peeling back the layers of society and peering in to its dark holes and unexplored crevices. Along the way, amid a cast of bubbly and maloderous characters, Collin will have to deal with questions about where he sits in society, how to overcome his growing affection for his Essence, and the spectre of what he always sees behind.
"Butt" is as much a social commentary as much as it is an intimate look deep inside the caverns of a man, and what he witholds from the world.
Man, that sounds like it could go anywhere, but I can't wait to read it! Here's the details:
