My sister has recently given me a game called Vampires: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and told that her character in the game looked just like me. At home I have installed the game and passed the test at the beginning of the game which defines the most appropriate vampire clan for the player. The game has chosen a girl from Tremere clan and - wow - she really looks like me!
Tremere
Originally from Eastern Europe, the Tremere were organized in chantries. These were almost completely destroyed in the war against the Tzimisce. Only the fortified Coeris, in the southern Transylvanian Alps, survived, but the Tremere soon spread again and founded strongholds in Prague and Vienna (the latter was to become their main center of power).
The Tremere have a strict formal hierarchical structure called the Pyramid. The heads of the Pyramids insure the loyalty of their subjects by having each childe presented to the regent of the local chantry and forced to drink the blood of the Seven elders through a Thaumaturgical ritual, thus bringing them closer to a blood bond. All Tremere are expected to respect and obey their superiors, or else risk being harshly punished.
The members of this clan are dedicated and extremely well-organized. Others, however, think of them as arcane and untrustworthy. They are aggressive, highly intellectual and manipulative, and respect only those who struggle and persevere despite all odds. The tremere believe they must use the other clans in order to prosper. "Be friendly with them, let them think that we are one with them, but never forget that we serve our clan first and foremost," the tremere elders whisper to their progeny. "If you must use your friends in service to the clan, then you know your time was not wasted."
