V Season 2 Spoiler Speculation Discussion - EVANS FAMILY DRAMAZ
According to set pictures that came out this weekend, it looks like there is some sort of hostage situation happening and Erica and Joe are leading people out and trying to get them to safety.
It looks like right before everything is in the clear, Joe tells Erica to go ahead and when she turns around. According to video, it looks like Joe is shot and from pictures that have surfaced, it looks like Joe dies.
I do like Joe Evans. I do. He seemed to be a good father to Tyler and Erica comes across as having been faithful to him, despite his anger at finding out he wasn't Tyler's bio-dad (for some unknown reason).
HOWEVER, I don't think Joe Evans is necessary to the V story in the long run. He did his part in creating paternity drama issues and after that, there's not much for him. He won't get back together with Erica, romantically. He's not a main character. I always figured the "father" position for Tyler would go to Jack, anyway, so not surprised to see Tyler's "dad" get killed to make way for that. Even so, I'm glad that it seems like Joe Evans goes out as a hero.
I have to wonder if Joe learns the truth about the Vs and/or joins The Resistance?
What's gotten me even more excited than the Evans family drama is that Jack is going to be outside of this hostage situation, looking like he's fighting to get in (or something?). The Jack/Erica shipper in me wonders if he is worried about her (which, even in a non-shippy sense, he would be) and the fan of the priest in me wonders if he'll make it in time to give Joe Last Rites? No matter which, Jack is definitely going to have to be there for Erica as she goes through losing her ex-husband and probably feeling guilty about not being able to save him (which is a thing heroes usually go through when something like this happens).
Erica Evans is going to be going through some STUFF in Season 2. All of her boys (Tyler, Jack, Joe, Ryan, and Hobbes) are getting attacked in some fashion and losing Joe seems like it's almost a parallel to her nightmare about Tyler dying that she'll have early on.
I'M SUPER STOKED ABOUT ALL OF THIS. I think this content is from Episode 7? Not sure. Just sucks that it'll be Spring before we can even see this scene in its entirety.
