V Speculation: Fancy Party
I've thought for a long time (even though, I've never written it down like a dummy) that the new V on ABC might do some sort of scenario where members of The Resistance go undercover at some fancy Visitor party like they do in The Final Battle.
Well, it looks like that may be coming to fruition.
What I have always thought the original V missed a chance at doing was having a moment with Mike and Julie at the party with them both dressed up. If I had written it, that's what I would have done. It's slightly cliche', but I always thought it would be cool to have a romantic moment with them and before anything really happens (maybe an almost kiss or something), crap goes down.
In the original, crap DOES go down at the party, but nothing romantic happens.
SO...I'm hoping/speculating that the new V has a romantic moment between Jack and Erica at the party. There are spoilery pics of Erica at the party (I'm guessing as some sort of security for Anna), but no Jack. However, I'm not counting a moment with them out because you could still have a cute moment where Jack sees Erica all dressed up.
If Jack DOES go to the party, I'd hope that the show remember that the Visitors are still tracking him through R-6.
I just kinda figure something romantic will be happening this season (Elizabeth Mitchell said something in an interview about them upping the romance) and this is one of those perfect scenarios for it.
It's also crossed my mind that there is the possibility that the party may be (in addition to a romantic situation) a way to revisit Julie ripping John's face off in the original. I don't think that Erica would be doing anything like that since she's trying to gain Anna's trust for information, but I wouldn't put it passed one of the new members of The Resistance that are coming in this season who are supposedly going to have a different approach than Erica's group. They COULD try to do the "Let's rip their faces off in front of the world" tactic (Chad Decker is at this party, too, and I'm guessing the party is to announce something big Anna is doing, so that means cameras might be close) because Erica wouldn't and didn't because at the time (1x04), it didn't seem like the best strategy.
Whatever happens, it looks exciting.
