After reading that some EDLois fans/Clois shippers are pushing for romantic Clois in Season 6, I just can't help but ask more questions:
1) Why would they go ahead with Clark and EDLois, romantically, after only 2 seasons when it took 5 seasons for Clark and Lana? Just because she's "Lois"? That's crap to me. Rushed and total crap.
2) How would they execute romantic Clois, in the mythological sense, if she's known him for 2 seasons, stayed with him and his family, and just in general, been around him without glasses? With Chlois, you have a different scenario altogether, different set up, so in my mind, it makes more sense.
3) Why would these "restrictions" be lifted after "Superman Returns"?
I read an interview with Kevin Spacey this morning that said a sequel to the film could possibly be determined by how this one does at the box office. I can go ahead and predict right now that it will be HUGE and will definitely have a sequel in the works, if not already. If the feature division has a big say so in what Smallville does (which is what they keep telling us), it wouldn't end there, would it?
4) And, speaking of "restrictions", they don't seem just to apply with romantic Clois. Steven DeKnight said on his blog (when discussing Chloe's boyfriend next season) that the chances for Jimmy Olsen to appear are slim to none because of the "restrictions". I don't understand this because wouldn't there have been "restrictions" in Season 3, with "Perry"? I mean, they've had these supposed "restrictions" since the Pilot (hence proto-Lois, Chloe), so how did they pull that off? Was it because he wasn't the chief at the DP? Maybe...
5) Why would they continue with EDLois if they couldn't push her towards journalism, little to few of the audience seemed to take to her, and episodes focused on her seem to be ratings losers? Why not just introduce her in Season 4 to have the name and then pull her out when she went back to school? Why bring her on the show if they couldn't do anything with her? Lois Lane, if EDLois is the real deal, should have just been a tease to the audience. Smallville is not about her and she shouldn't have been introduced in the first place, if in fact, she is the Lois we can expect Clark to be with in the future.
The only solution, in my mind, to all these crazy issues is Chlois.
The setup between Clark and Chloe would make sense.
The moments where Chloe is tortured, emotionally, would make sense.
Chloe's journalistic progression and achievements would make sense.
Clark being Chloe's protege' at the DP would make sense.
...Smallville would make sense.
The creators and writers have created a ripe mess on their hands with EDLois and the only great way out is Chlois.
It goes back to my old adage...the Smallville folks are either GENIUSES or MORONS.
