Love?...Love

The truth is that love is hard. Its hard to give out your heart to somebody in hopes that they won't break it, in hopes that they won't expose its secrets, in hopes that they won't toss it aside. Its hard to continue to pour out your heart to people when you feel like its been hurt too much, like it has nothing left to give. Its hard to take a chance. Its hard to forgive. Its hard to feel this longing for someone to come along who will take you in his arms and comfort all of your sorrows, your fears, your anxiouties; who will rejoice in your success, your hopes, your dreams; who will encourage you through thick and thin. Its hard to wait, its hard to be patient.

But I guess this is what Jesus feels like. He is consistantly waiting for us. He gives his heart to us in hopes that we will love him, we will follow him. But we continue to disregard him, we continue to turn away, we continue to follow the new fads that disrupt our complete commitment to him. Yet he continues to forgive. He continues to love. He continues to take a chance on us. How many times have we broken his heart?

"[Love] is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs." (1 Corinthians 13:5)
