Kuze had given up the search, too many years had past, she had surely been killed. The troubled times of the wars, he could still remember that day. He didn’t like the snow. He never would again.

His hands folded paper in perfected movements (hadn’t he started this long ago?). Memories of red and purple would overcome him (it made him want) and he would go make another hundred cranes.

The amount of cranes that he had made had doubled since childhood (would she like them?). It felt good to have some type of connection to his past, he knew that it wasn’t acceptable. He had tried to forget, had stopped his hands for days, only to have smiles and promises invade his mind.

Three days later he had started up again, his paper crane collection doubling overnight.

He never regretted his decision to switch to a cyborized body. He regretted what he did with that body (surely, she wouldn’t like him like this). It had been over twenty years, their old bodies lay in a car, being taken care of. The woman who he had left the bodies with had looked at him knowingly (he didn’t like the feeling, it was as if his heart was open to her) and had promised him that she would take care of them until he came back for them.

(He still hadn’t, he had to remind himself that he had given up on the search.)

His plans weren’t coming along accordingly, a mishap there, a interfering section here, he didn’t know how much longer it would take to complete his (their) dream. For once it wasn’t them (him and her) but rather them (he and those who believed in him).

The petroleum hadn’t been in those containers. He had been had (he couldn’t tell them that, though). That hadn’t been the real surprise though, no, that had happened on his way out (escaping).

The woman, dressed in a blackish-purple, had jumped from the walkway to the first floor. Gun in hand she and her team had killed two of his men (not including the others but he hadn’t realized that they were part of her team at the time). He had turned around at the sounds of metal hitting metal (because, underneath it all, that’s what they both were).

Red eyes met brown.

He hadn’t given up.

Due to the complete lack of fics for this pairing I wrote a couple. Expect a Saito/Motoko later and possibly a Batou/Motoko as well (though the first is my secondary OTP). Jump on the banwagon! Write GitS! :P
