Remember: There are SPOILERS in here.

Part One

The Kyuubi vessel had talked non-stop for the past five minutes and he was wondering if his target even knew how to shut up. He rubbed his temple. This was not worth it, even though it would be a great achievement to the Akatsuki if they could bring back the two jinchuuriki.

A moment later the male was almost literally rooted from the spot at the explosive release of chakera. As he looked at his targets he wondered why they weren’t affected. And then he realized why.

“Gaara! What is your problem?”

Naruto dodged one attack, cursing Gaara’s temper, and dropped to a crouching position.

“Gaa-“

He was effectively cut off when the Kazekage’s lips met his. He didn’t wince as teeth sink into his tender bottom lip, or at the feeling of his blood running down his chin.

“Mine,” Gaara’s husky voice filled his ears and he realized that Gaara had reverted back to primal instincts. He was his and he needed to understand that.

Naruto went from cursing Gaara to cursing the fact that he wasn’t as naïve as he once was.

“Kazekage-sama.”

It was a statement, not a plea, not a question, just an acknowledgement of how far apart they were. He hoped to pull Gaara out of his stupor long enough to find out what in the hell had ticked Gaara off.

Naruto found he didn’t like the reward. He was suddenly up against a tree, forgetting that his bijuu had nine tails while Gaara’s had one and he should be the superior dammit! Gone were his childish ways he still had his fake smiles and strong determination, he was older now. More mature.

That didn’t mean that he couldn’t blush like a twelve-year-old when Gaara pushed a knee in-between his legs.

“Gaara stop! We’re on a mission.” and you’re still injured.

It was true, Gaara had been wounded by the last Akatsuki attack (they hadn’t faired as well against two jinchuuriki as they had one) and even though they pushed them back it still very nearly cost them their lives.

At Gaara’s lips on his skin he moaned and leaned into the touch, attempting to get as close to the other male as possible. And then he remembered that he didn’t want this, that they were still being chased, that Gaara was still hurt and that they had to get back to Suna.

So he did the only logical thing. He punched the Kazekage of Sand and threw him over his shoulder, knowing that Gaara was going to kick his ass as soon as he regained consciousness.

Which reminded him of another thing. Gaara wasn’t supposed to sleep. He stopped, weighing his options and then continued on, hoping that the Kyuubi could handle Gaara’s little “problem” (at which point Kyuubi pointed out that they were not problems and could handle themselves fine without a human vessel thank you very much).

Naruto’s dread began to grow as they got closer to Suna.
