Sarah had encrypted emails from Chuck waiting for her as she brought her computer online.
That was ... fairly unusual, actually. Generally he limited his communications with her to quick comments on funny forwards and photos of Casey in embarrassing situations.
She tried to stay professionally cool as she read the messages, and didn't entirely succeed. He had a new partner; he didn't like her; she'd ruined Awesome's bachelor party with a stripper routine and made him lie to Ellie and everyone was freaking out. Also, he'd gone against orders and made contact with the designer of the Intersect and everyone was mad at him but was it really that bad? He needed the computer out of his head and no one else seemed to be able to help. And he couldn't find his dad, and Ellie's wedding was coming up, and could Sarah just please help somehow?
Sarah sighed. Looked at the photo he'd attached of a drugged Devon at his bachelor party again. Thought about the Ellie in her class and the Ellie she knew.
Chuck had given the last two years of his life to the government. Sarah figured it was time the government gave something back. She brought up a database she was only supposed to use for crucial missions ... and tapped in Stephen Bartowski's name.
It pulled up an address a few hours outside L.A. Sarah stared at it for a long moment before deciding what she had to do. Then she
called her
TAs and a kennel and went to book a flight for first thing the next morning.
Certain messages needed to be delivered in person.
[OOC: Yep, time for Chuck vs. the Broken Heart/Chuck vs. the Dream Job. She'll be back Tuesday-ish. Office door is open, though she may be a bit distracted.]
