Her morning had been dedicated to gathering supplies for the signs Shepard wanted them to make, a brilliantly obvious idea. Why someone hasn't thought of it before, not only stumped Sheva, but had her kicking herself for not hatching such a simple idea. Since it was daytime, her weapons only included her knife and handgun, neither of which she had out of their holsters ( ... )

Eliot hadn't expected anyone to be walking in, although given the time of the day he wasn't surprised about it either. He heard the footsteps off to the side, and turned just in time to see a familiar face coming in.

"There's nothin' wrong with sandwiches," he said and he couldn't hold back his grin when Sheva walked close, knowing just how good his sandwiches were. "I use whole multigrain bread and put slices of deli chicken spiced with small bits of basil and chili, an even spreading of my self made olive and avocado paste -that I added in bits of lemon rind and juice for an extra... tang- fresh thin sliced cucumbers and tomatoes and a layer of... I think it's unripe goat cheese... Some ground almonds, grilled to perfection and... voila." He put on the second piece of multigrain bread on top of the two grilled sandwiches.

He held up one of the finished products proudly. "My homemade olive and avocado Mediterranean grilled sandwich."

During the whole explanation, Sheva simply stared, a mix of intrigue and surprise edging slightly onto her features. The idea that Eliot would be some sort of gourmet cook kind of floored her, mainly because all the chefs she had ever met were easily pegged as such. This, well this just felt like the Twilight Zone.

Still not sold on the combination of flavors, she peered at the sandwiches with trepidation and even a bit of doubt. Regardless, it must have taken him quite a bit of time and effort to make these things. "Are you sure all that stuff belongs on a sandwich?"

"Am I sure?" He scoffed then grinned, pushing the sandwich in Sheva's direction as if daring her to try it. He could grill one of the other ones for Hardison afterwards. After all, not many people cooked the way he did and he was amused by the undertone of surprise mixed into her expressions.

Smirking now, he leaned up against the counter and brought his own grilled sandwich to his mouth. "Try it," he challenged her confidently, "You'll see."

Hannah had been feeling lazy lately. She was a demon and she was supposed to be a maid. Not doing any of her duties seemed wrong to her and even though she did not have a master to serve, she still felt the need to do something.

Finding someone else in the kitchen, though, she bows. Everybody was always somewhere, there was no privacy in this place.

"Excuse me."

Ignore the bandage part if you're playing her without it. distinctive_guy December 6 2011, 04:30:20 UTC
Eliot looked up, startled when someone suddenly appeared in his peripheral vision without him actually hearing first. That... well, that was really something.

Yet, by the time he was turning around to greet the sweet voice, all traces of surprise had been smoothed into a casual grin. He took in the appearance of the other with a quick glance, not even lingering on the bandaged eye, and noticed that whatever allowed her to mask the sounds of her approach was not something he could casually discern.

Probably more weirdness from this island.

He smiled to put her at ease. "Help you with somethin'?"

She has the bandages! learnedlove December 7 2011, 05:33:43 UTC
The smile doesn't seem to change anything and she gives another bow, her head down as she looks down at the floor.

"I am sorry, sir. I was only meaning to do something in my time, but I do not want to get in your way." She takes notice of all the food he's made. "Especially when you've had made so many things. I will leave."

The politeness raised Eliot's eyebrows to his hairline and he spent a moment cocking his head just watching the young woman in maid's clothing. "Hey." Calling to her before she could leave, he waited until she was facing him before he gestured to the open kitchen.

"The place ain't mine, darlin', you won't be gettin' in my way. I'm almost finished here anyway."

Castle had followed his nose to the kitchen, as any starving man would. He had subsisted for the last few days of whatever he could find but was starting to get desperate. Upon entering the kitchen and seeing the sandwiches laid out, Castle's eyes widened. That almost looked gourmet. Who knew stuff like this even existed here?

"That. Looks amazing."

Never shy from praises, Eliot met the man who just complimented him with a proud grin. His visit to the kitchen was definitely helping to uplift his mood. "Avocado and olive with goat cheese... I think, sandwich. Mediterranean style. Had to make do with what the place has."

He had finished his before the other man entered and was actually packing up, but there were still the extras. "Want me to heat one up for you? Tastes better grilled."

Not only was he a good cook, he was incredibly nice too.

"That would be awesome. That's really good of you, man. There is nothing decent to eat around this place."

Castle's nose and a little charm could get him far.

It never hurt to compliment the cook, and Eliot soaked up the nice words with his own radiant grin.

"That's why I make my own food, man. No preservatives... least, when I have time to prepare things from scratch." He waited until the cheese was half melted before he put on the second piece of bread and toasted it slightly on the stove. "Grow my own stuff in the greenhouse too. Organic."

He waited until the sandwich was well warmed before he put it on a plate and pushed it forward. "All yours."

Kate had been wandering aimlessly, exploring the area and trying to learn her way around. The sound of movement caught her attention, and she found a kitchen, and a man in the kitchen. A man with food. Food that looked really good. She cleared her throat as she approached him with a smile.

"I have ten bucks in my pocket. It's yours for even half of one of those sandwiches."

Eliot was aware of another visitor, but waited until she opened the greeting before he turned to her with a smile.

At her joke, if joke it was, he laughed and just took up one of the ungrilled sandwiches to heat on the stove for her. "You can have a whole one for free. Wouldn't know where to set up a savin' account on this hunk of rock."

Her eyes lit up at his offer, and she leaned on the opposite side of the counter and watched him put the sandwiches together.

"Where did you get all this food? You've got enough to feed an army."

Considering he had fed an army before and six sandwiches was hardly enough to feed one man lest a whole regiment, Eliot barely contained his mirth.

"It's just a little snack. I grew the vegetables myself in the greenhouse, and there's stuff here and there if ya know where to look in the mall." Still, he was pleased by the attention and served her the sandwich with a smile.

"Here ya go, ma'am."

Morgana's had issues with the food on this forsaken island since her arrival. She's used to a diet of what most would call organic, but she would call simply food.

When she ghosts through the kitchen, it is quick, and usually unsuccessful. It's a good thing she's lived travelling with her sister for the previous year, otherwise, she might not be so accustomed to going without for short bouts.

The other thing is, when Morgana does head down to the kitchen, she rarely runs into people. One advantage of sleeping difficulties is the ability to be up and about when so many others are unconscious.

As it's the afternoon, she isn't surprised to find someone else roaming about but that doesn't prevent her from using proper manners. "Pardon me, sir." She isn't asking for pardon, more commenting should he not wish to be interrupted. It's a fine line for both Morgana and her manners.

Eliot paused in his cleaning up to glance at the lady who entered. His gaze lingered on her and her clothing for a half second longer before he broke out into a polite but warm smile. "Yes, ma'am? Can I help you with something?"

The manners earn him a friendly smile in return. "I do not mean to interrupt. I am only looking for something to eat." Her lips purse a little at the options she's currently staring at.

There's little there that earns her interest, but as the man looks at home in a kitchen, there's no harm in asking. "Would you happen to know if there is any food left, that has not gone off, which does not contain foreign substances?" Packaging details confound her vastly. It's one of the seven million questions she keeps finding for Velma or Peter, in regards to modern ways.

A lady after his own heart in regards to standards for food. Eliot gave that well kept face another look and decided that perhaps that might extend to general things as well.

"You can try the greenhouse west of here. There's plenty of fresh grown produce inside. I guarantee there's nothin' foreign about them, besides being from this island. Grew most of'em myself."
