Kay, you want to watch Thundara for me while I'm gone? I'm sure she'd love to hang tight with you for a few hours.

[ Kairi shows up an hour or so later, Tiamat gliding overhead, elegant body twisting through the air. Show off.

She waves when she spots Snow, Tiamat letting out a loud cry in hello as well. ]

Snow! [ As she comes closer, the now teenage-ish Cubone that shares Snow's name can be seen beside her, sticking close to his master's legs. ] Long time no see.

[Rocky's lounging nearby--right now, Snow's been helping Machop get used to his new set of arms. It's like learning to write with both hands at once, almost (Snow tried that once, after he saw someone do it in the bar back home). You get going good with one but realize the other's just sitting there useless while you weren't paying attention. Or worse on the looking-stupid, both move at once, puppet-style.

Like now: Snow waves back at Kairi, and Machamp goes to do the same, but both right hands wind up waving. He scowls slightly, and the bottom one drops. Post-wave, Machamp's crossing both sets of arms, ready to keep training. But Snow's striding toward Kairi to greet her with a grin.] Yeah, no kidding. He's gotten big. Last I saw this guy, he was crawling out of the egg.

[ Tia lands neatly, going from flying to slithering in one smooth motion. She shows no interest in Snow, but goes straight for Machamp. She's large and long enough to encircle him completely and still have length to spare, enough to lift her head to his level. For now, she only stares at him. ]

Yeah. [ Kairi reaches down to pat little-Snow on the head. ] He's growing up really fast, and he's been getting along pretty well with everyone else.

[Machamp is attempting not to look fazed, but he is glancing once to the left and once to the right, confirming that he's fully encircled. They haven't battled since they were tiny--who knows how easily she could snatch the advantage, from this position. But then his eyes return firmly to hers, staring straight back, arms still crossed defiantly.

Snow, meanwhile, grins at the news.] Like trainer, like Cubone, it looks like. Twice in a row now. Be glad he didn't take after his mom. [A chuckle.] Have you met Franziska? You'll see where Cubone gets it.

[ Tia has no intentions of battle; not until her trainer initiates it, anyway. For now, she's just sizing him up, trying to determine if he's really the same little runt that she played with on the beach. ]

I haven't, actually. [ She laughs quietly, embarrassed over something she hasn't even said...yet. ] I, uh, well, [ There's a long pause, her cheeks pinken. ] He's named after you!

[Oh, he is. He's got that same jerkass-stubborn look in his eye, like when his sandcastle failed and he tried to say he wasn't pouting.

At Kairi's words, Snow laughs once, almost a surprised laugh more than anything.] Really now? Y'know, the name's got some pretty big shoes to fill. It means 'hero, and also freakishly good-looking' in, uh. Hindu?

[ Tia takes note of this, and seems pleased. Another moment of staring goes by before she seems to smile, chirping happily in her recognition. ]

I think he's up to it. [ She looks down at her Cubone, who loudly agrees with his trainer. ] Yep!

[And Machamp too seems to smile, just a tiny bit.]

Well great, then. What level's he at?

[ Tia closes in around him, going for a squeezy dragon hug. ]

Eighteen! [ Kairi is quite proud of this number, although its nowhere near as high as Tia's level. ] He's gotten really good, I think he wants to train even more than we already do.

[Machamp's eyes widen for a second, like he's asdhakjdha-ing at the physical contact in a non-battle format, but then his four arms go to hug back as best he can.]

Hey, perfect--Rocky just hit twenty-one. That's pretty close. Want to battle them?

[ D'awwww, so cute. No hard feelings when she beats the crap out of you. ]

Uh... [ It's not so much the size difference that bothers her as it is the type alignment. It seems like an exercise in futility. ] I was thinking Tia would enjoy battling Machamp, actually!

[Snow is slightly lost on 'types', even still.] Oh. Hey, sure! I'm sure he's up for a challenge.

Alright! [ Kairi turns from him, calling out to her pokemon. ]

Tia! [ The dragonair releases Machamp instantly, slithering over to her trainer. The two nuzzle fondly. ] You ready?

[She might as well have been asking Machop, because he takes that as his cue to crack his knuckles and stretch his arms across his chest.]
