Well....yes, I was occupied with things way better than doing homework this afternoon, but now that it's way late, I have to be up by 6 at the latest, and 75% of my homework from the weekend has been left undone, I must say this whole day could be a pictorial definition for a double-edged sword.
I hung out with Chris ALL afternoon. It was just supposed to be lunch, which I was actually surprised that he had time for. Sometimes getting a hold of him or having a few hours where our schedules mesh to do something is hard. We talked a lot, had fun, but I don't either of us intended for it to turn into 5 1/2 hours. He has numerous papers to write that he ignored and I ignored an enormous pile of homework.
For my sanity I need to give up on the rest of it until tomorrow. Thankfully my second and last class of the day was cancelled, apparently my professor came down with something, so I'll have time to finish it up before pulling extra hours at work and matting stuff for my portfolio before the career fair on Thursday.
My 18 credits has effectively been reduced to 17...but that doesn't really mean much since that dropped credit is campus band.
On the note of cool weekend whatnot, I worked a show in Ann Arbor at the Blind Pig over the weekend. It is the first show that I have had to go to and work by myself for my internship. Cool Herc performed, who is an absolute old school hip/hop legend. One Be Lo also performed, who is one of the artists that is signed on to our booking agency. I'm working another show on Friday. This one is at the Temple Club which means that I won't get back to my apartment at 5am, AND I won't have to do it alone. My boss was impressed despite me doing it alone since I sold $160 worth of merchandise at the show. Hopefully Friday's show will be even better, but our last show at the Temple had a really wimpy crowd.
So, here's shameless advertising.....Temple Club Friday January 20th at 9pm. Advance tickets are available for $10 at Code of the Cutz at 317 M.A.C. and will get you into both the upstairs and the downstairs shows. Performers include Proof of D12 (aka Eminem's Best Man at his wedding this weekend), Purple Gang, DJ Ruckus, One Be Lo, Tasherre D' Enajetic and more.
Okay....definitely time to go to bed for my (hopefully) 4 hours of sleep
