Official last week (day) of Summer 2007

This was a great week. Wednesday, Mark and I went for a tour of the Yuengling factory. We got to talking to the tour lady and her daughter saw us at Prana. We gave her a badass birthday dedication and she loved us. Small world. The tour was fun and we left some info for the Yuengling lady. Mark and I went to the campus pool for a bit and then to the Flats. It was a good night. Thursday, I went to campus to meet up with the guy in charge of Round Up. Looks like it will be a good how. They're giving us 500 dollars for an hour. When I get done with the meeting I got a call from the Yuengling lady and we have a meeting in two weeks about a sponsorship. No money, but a good shot at free beer for putting stickers on the drum set and cases and stuff. Can't complain.

Thursday night we played a show at Prana for my sister's 21st. She had a great time. It was a chill show, but I got to use my new telecaster. Friday, we played a great show at Tia's. Tia's is still fun after three years. Ha.

Saturday, I drove to Orlando to catch Interscope's new band; The Midway State. It's always cool meeting new, younger bands. This was my first band through Universal and it's funny how it doesn't change. How's tour going, how's the new record, how's the label treating you? Good guys. It was an in-store and there weren't a lot of people, but the band played really well. Piano pop with an indie twist. I also met the Artist Development Representative for Interscope for the South East region. He started as a College Rep. Apparently, so did the Director of the program, the President of Universal and the CEO. Maybe that's why he felt enough sympathy to forward my e-mail. In any event, it gives me hope toward advancement.

After the show, I went to my Grandpa's for dinner. It was good seeing him and my Uncle again. My car's getting to that eleven year mark and my Grandpa was nice enough to provide the wagon with some new tires and brakes. My car doesn't do the death shake thing anymore which is pretty awesome. Glad to have a supportive family.

Tomorrow is the first day of the Fall semester. I can take any two upper level Comm classes. I'm registered for five. I'm going to attend all of them this week and pick the two that are the easiest. Straight up. We have four shows this week too. Thursday; Round Up and Prana, Friday; UA Hangout, Sunday: Taiga. If all goes to plan, bringing the grand total to 1400 dollars for some friends doing what they love. I would probably put the band at number one in my list right now. One day closer to the real world.
