Affects: Christmas cheer, lots of happiness and love.
The dream opens to a family sitting around a Christmas tree. But as the dream becomes clearer, Steve was actually among the family. He looked a little older, but not much. The serum prevented fast aging. He was aware of that. As for the rest of the family, Peggy was sitting next to him. The small hints of passing years were on her face, but the smile that appeared showed youthful joy within her still.
What was most striking was the two children the dream was showing. On Steve's lap was a blonde haired girl that appeared about the age of six. Though her hair matched that of the one who's lap she sat, her eyes and face favored the woman sitting hand-in-hand with Steve. The young girl was hugging a teddy bear, one that she seemed to just have opened.
The other child, a boy about the age of four, sat on the ground, his dark hair messy, though he otherwise favored his father. He was laying on his stomach, intensely focused on the toy soldiers he playing with. Surrounding him were wads of paper and opened presents, but the toy soldiers earned his sole attention.
"Thank you, Daddy, I love it!" The young girl cried, throwing her arms around Steve, giving him a tight embrace. He happily returned it, stroking his daughter's hair.
"You're welcome, Sarah."
"James, are you going to open rest of your presents?" Peggy had spoken up now, but the little boy on the floor simply shook his head. His tongue was slightly sticking out of his mouth now, deep in concentration.
"Don't push him. It doesn't matter. Just glad he likes 'em." Steve chuckled, squeezing Peggy's hand gently. It did make him happy. He remembered playing with toy soldiers very similar to what they had gotten James, wishing one day he could be a soldier like his father. He smiles, at least relieved that here in Somarium, his children didn't have to deal with the wars of his home world.
"This is perfect. Everything's perfect. This is the best Christmas yet." It was as he leaned closer to kiss his wife's cheek that the dream faded out.
