[This dream hits closer to home than Desmond ever wanted to admit. The other man made the sacrifice he's still not sure he'd be able to make. Even though he knows he will have to eventually. But for now, he'll watch the dream while gritting his teeth, the feeling of fear and sorrow something he knows all too well.

He leaves a long moment before speaking up, letting Steve find his peace]

That was...really courageous of you.

[What the hell is he suppose to say in these situation? 'My condolences for dying?']

[Steve isn't sure he even knows how to respond either. He wasn't happy that his dream was shown to everyone. He was perfectly happy without everyone knowing of all his heroic actions.

But so much for that. When Steve finally does reply, he's no longer in his room, there's a bottle of scotch in the line of sight, and he seems to be drinking a glass of the same thing. Not that it's doing any good.]

Thanks...I guess...

[He nods]

You're welcome. I don't think I know a lot of people that would have made the ultimate sacrifice like you did.

[Except that it's a lie. All of his team mates are ready to die to protect the Pieces of Eden against the Templars. Both of his ancestors gave up everything they were to be the perfect Assassin and be at the forefront of the battle for mankind's free will.]

I was just...doing my job. It's what any good soldier would have done. [And he's the perfect soldier. It was what he was made for.]

Even so, not everyone would have done it. I've seen soldiers run from their duties more than once. [Especially when they were left facing his ancestors.]

What war were you fighting in anyway?

[Because he's pretty sure there hasn't been wars recently that required such a large plane like that.]

[He has to give him that, but that doesn't mean he says it vocally.]

I'm told they later call it World War 2.

['Oh shit...' Desmond's astonishement can easily be seen on his face]

Wow, that's like 65 years before my time. [He chuckles lightly] No wonder you had that much troubles with your Dreamberry.

[He gives a soft hint of a grin, then nods. He's not really surprised by the male's surprise. It was still shocking to him that everyone here was so far into his future.] Makes sense now, huh?

Yeah...How are you adapting? I mean...how lost are you with all this new technology and life styles?

It's...different. But I was lucky enough to have a friend here when I first got here. He helped show me how things worked in this place.
