Portrait of Sekhmet!

Oct 31, 2010 04:30

Up for auction! This gorgeous double-matted acrylic portrait of Sekhmet.

I painted this in 2003 and it has been in my personal collection since then, as I consider it the best Egyptian piece I've ever done. I've always meant to sell it but never have gotten around to it, and I think it's time to find it a home with someone who needs to bring a little of this powerful and beautiful goddess' energy into their lives.

I painted this as accurately as I could; all the designs are from historical sources, recombined, right down to the border. The palette I chose to match Egyptian enamel-work. I painted it with pro-grade acrylics on black illustration board, and the details have been picked out with some really kickass metallic gold paint. In person it is as beautiful and as luminous as it looks in photos, and would look stunning anywhere you chose to hang it.

The whole thing with mat is 11" by 14", and will fit in a standard-size frame! One trip to the art store and you could hang this the same day you get it, no fuss!

Bidding opens at only $15.

Bidding closes Sunday, November 7 at 11:59 p.m., just before midnight.

When bidding, please reply to the comment of the bidder before you, to keep it all in one thread and make sure that the last bidder is notified of the new bid!
