“You sure look lovely tonight, miss Mars.”

She gives him one of those smiles - he’d walk through fire to see it again.

“And you’re certainly official tonight, Deputy. Are on still on duty?”

“No, thank God. It’s all done for today, I can go home and ... you know, do things.”

She greets him with one of those looks - so mischievous, it could melt the ice.

“That sounds entertaining, I have to admit.”

She pauses for a while - he looks her in the eyes, his lower lip trembling.

“I’m really sorry, Leo” she finally says, her voice faint.

“Don’t be. It never helps” he answers, turning his back on her and starting to walk. Something just broke inside him - for the second time. Veronica Mars, you’ll be the death of me.

It’s winter again, and he stays away from home as much as his mother’s unceasing demands allow him. The atmosphere inside it’s heavy from his parent’s constant fights, and the outdoors air bears the taste of freedom.

They build a snowman, together. It looks clumsy, standing askew in the middle of the backyard, but its their snowman, their creation - and they love it.

“I know exactly what he lacks” he suddenly says, and Lily turns her wide, green eyes on him.

Carefully approaching the tall figure, he pulls his wand from his pocket. He takes a quick glance around, resting assured that no one’s there to set the alarm. With a natural swish, he draws an imaginary circle - the snowman’s eyes are alive now, glaring them merrily.

“Oh Sev, it’s amazing!” she shouts, doing a little dance in the snow. She looks like a polar bear, all camouflaged in her winter coat, but he’s never seen her happier before.

Suddenly, she stops.

“I thought we weren’t allowed to perform magic outside school” she reminds him, gently.

A tiny smirk grows broader across his face.

“We’re not. Enjoy it, Lily. I’ve got my ways.”

Title: A Swish of The Hand

Fandom: Sky High
Characters/Pairing: Layla. Layla/Warren.
Genre: Drabble (194 words). Romance.
Rating: G.
A/N: For
geeklike. Because I know she wants it.

I can.

I can do things.

I can do things, if I want to.

But I can’t make others do what I want them to. Summoning a red, glittering apple out of nowhere it’s so easy - it comes with a swish of my hand. Bringing flowers back to life, once they’re drained of any touch of vital liquid is easy - it comes by the clap of my hands. Yet turning back the time proves impossible - no matter how tightly I clasp my hands in prayer.

Warren.

Warren is there, and I am here.

Warren is there, and I am here with Will.

Love has its own mysterious ways, and it plays around with our hearts, carelessly. It took me a while to acknowledge that what I had for Will - a mere crush - took a little time to fade away. I find myself longing for those deep, brown eyes, to cast their ensnaring glare into mine, again. It doesn’t happen, and I pray, while time goes on, and nothing changes.

One day, I’ll have the courage to tell him what I feel. I’ve done it before - it’s as easy as a swish of the hand.

Title: Tears

Fandom: Twilight
Characters/Pairing: Edward. Implied Bella/Edward.
Genre: Drabble (164 words). Angst. First person.
Rating: G. Post-Twilight.
A/N: For
geeklike. Although I’m not sure she’ll be able to read. But that’s no problem, I’m not sure I could write it, either.

To live without her, welcome to my new hell. It’s private, it’s personal, and it’s for me only.

Call me old-fashioned, but I believe in true love. Call me insane, but I cannot live without it, once I’ve found it. And call me a dreamer - which, of course, wouldn’t be appropriate - but I know I have.

Found it, and lost it, by my own will. And if you don’t know how it’s like to be caught into darkness, no matter how light your pace is, if you don’t remember how the battering of a butterfly’s wing makes your heart bleed, as you’ll never admire its beauty with her - finally, if you don’t think of ten different ways to cut yourself off this endless life, a life reduced to nothingness as long as she’s not a part of it, then you’ve never loved.

I love. And it tears my heart, tears of blood staining my cheeks that will never feel her touch again.

Title: Longing

Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters/Pairing: Sirius. Implied Sirius/Lily, one-sided.
Genre: Drabble (199 words). Angst. Romance.
Rating: PG.
A/N: For
atanone. This is not my ship, it just occurred to me incidentally.

“We’re so happy to see you” she says, the flame of her red hair burning his eyes.

She means it, he knows. He’d just rather she had used the singular pronoun. The we floats between them, drawing an unseen, yet so strong, wall. Sirius wonders how many years passed since he first made her acquaintance - nine, ten, perhaps more. He’s never been good at counting, not when it concerns time. All his days are the same, in spite of the constant fight. All his nights are the same - lonely - in spite of the occasional warm bodies lying by his side.

There is a day he longs for, yet it will never be. There are nights when he longs, yet his desires will never be fulfilled.

Being in love with Lily Potter has never been an easy job.

“Here, have some  wine, it will chase the cold away” she smiles, handing him the glass.

He accepts it, nodding thankfully. Their hands brush against each other, only for a split second - then the feeling is gone. The flame is still present, he quenches it with wine - but he knows that another endless row of longing nights awaits him, once she’s gone.
