Nintendo had it's press conference yesterday at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) and GOD was it a good show. I've always been a Nintendo fangirl, and always will, but DAMN did they make us happy yesterday. I'll post my fangiriling under a cut for those who could care less LOL Any one out there who can fangirl over videogames with me? Nintendo's in particular?
OKAY. So first of all, they open up with the new Zelda. ZELDA. I was honestly just hoping for a trailer, and I thought that it was all we would get, I never would have dreamed they would actually show us ACTUAL game play. By Miyamoto no less <333 I've heard a lot of opinions on the style for The Legend Of Zelda : Skyward Sword, how some people love it while others hate it. To be honest, when I first saw it, I was a little disappointed. I don't dislike the cell shading style, LOVED it for Wind Waker, and it continued to work brilliantly for the DS Zelda titles, but seeing adult Link cell shaded? Hmm, not so exciting. I would have loved it if he looked more like he did in Twilight Princess. But I'll try to stay positive about that. They were really good to us for showing us so much. And the gameplay looks like it's gonna kick ass, with the Wii motion plus, the sword and shield action should feel much more real. Slashing low, horizontally or vertically will actually work that way, so it's all gonna be important. No more random slashing to kill enemies.
They showed a new Kirby, Mickey (which was really surprising), Metroid, Donkey Kong (OMFG does that bring back memories, holy shit. I used to LOVE playing that with my big bro. I LOVE when we can play games together - it's part our bonding time, so that felt really good. I'm sure we'll be playing that together in the future.) They just talked about so MUCH. I can't recall the last time I was so thrilled by what they had to show. Then they finished off at the end by showing off the new 3DS, which I had already heard was going to be a new version of the DS, with a 3D screen, which actually will NOT require 3D glasses to experience. HOLY SHIT. Nintendo sure knows how to step up its game. How the hell are they gonna make that work?? I LOVE YOU NINTENDO, YOU GUYS ARE SO AWESOMELY SMART. They have SO many games coming out for it too. The DS has to be my favorite gaming system, seriously.I fucking love that thing. I use my brother's DS Lite more than he does. So I have a feeling my DS love won't be fading any time soon. Here are the titles I'm excited for:
Mario Kart
Zelda : Ocarina of Time - originally for the Nintendo 64, first real game I played the shit out of. Seriously. I played it so many times I lost count. So a remake of this is really exciting.
Paper Mario - LOVE the Paper Mario series, and since it's such a simply cute style, I have a feeling it'll look friggin' awesome on the DS. Probably the only set of Mario games that I can say I actually played all the way through LOL always loved Mario, but it's happened a lot that I leave them on the edge of finishing them, cause I get frustrated *coughmariogalaxy2cough* star #242 is a bitch D:
Resident Evil: Revelations - wow, a new Resident Evil for the DS? Looks interesting from the screen caps. Chris is in it, and another girl we don't know yet. This could be very interesting *shivers at the thought of 3D zombies*
Professor Layton 3 - YES. Love, love Layton. Awesome puzzle game with good storylines, and lovely animation sequences. I highly recommend this game to non-hardcore gamers. Really excited for the movie they're working on for the series as well.
Starfox 64 3D - another nintendo 64 classic. YES.
Kingdom Hearts Re:coded - just played 358/2 Days not too long ago, so another Kingdom Hearts title for the DS makes me super happy. Of course, what would make me REALLY happy is Kingdom Hearts 3, but I won't complain. Love me some KH.
That's a lot of games guys. Way too much for my brain. It's gonna be a good year for games for me.
