Okay, as most of you have probably heard (read, whatever P: ), Supernatural is going to be turned into an anime! I heard about it early on today, and I've just been bouncing off the walls all day. Found out about it through character_bleed 's journal. Here's a quick look in case you haven't seen it yet.
Okay guys. I've been an anime nerd since I was about ...10 or 11 years old. It was all about Pokemon and Ranma 1/2. As if I needed more reasons to be a weird kid in elementary school, haha. Anyway, I've been drawing all my life, so around that time it was all about anime. It's still my favorite thing to draw nowadays. So, ever since I got into Supernatural, about a year ago, I've been drawing them nonstop as anime characters. Seriously. They are, without a doubt, the characters that I've drawn the most of. EVER. You can find SPN doodles all over in my stuff now haha.
I've had friends tell me that they liked my artwork so much that they wished I had the opportunity to work on some sort of Supernatural anime or manga - which is still a completely amazing compliment. So this...amazing news. I was just blown away. I swear, when I saw it, I was just staring at my screen and going "NO. NO FUCKING WAY." O__<
The animation looks like it's gonna be super sweet. My mind has just been going crazy thinking about seeing the Impala animated, for some odd reason. The character designs look spot on. Love Sammy's earlier hair style look (it's perfect) and I can't stop staring at Dean's eyebrows. Those friggin' eyebrows. GUH. My sister's seen my drawings of Dean, and one thing she's always pointed out is his eyebrows and how I draw them. I've always payed a lot of attention to Jensen's eyebrows for some reason, it's one of the more important details for when I'm drawing Dean. It helps Dean look like Dean.
Seriously guys, this is so surreal. After drawing these guys for a year in anime style, then to see this. Wow. My sister looked it up after I told her about it - she found this on anime news network -

January 2011 "special project" to tie into Warner Brothers' live-action series
"The official Japanese website of the Warner Brothers production company has opened a section on Thursday to reveal the Supernatural The Animation project, which will launch from Japan in January of 2011. The "special project" will tie into the American live-action television series Supernatural. The website promises that the new project will be an animated work that no one has seen before. It does not indicate whether the project will be Japanese-animated or not."
I don't know if that means if it'll just be BASED on the tv series, or what...but all that matters is, 1. that they don't stray far from the heart of the show. 2. don't draw out story lines more than necessary - we don't need an anime that goes on too long that people just get bored with/tired of. 3. hopefully we could keep our music. 4. let's hope we get Jensen and Jared for the English dub *crosses fingers* if not, and the English voice actors suck, I'll still be watching, to be completely honest. I usually watch animes in Japanese anyway, so it wouldn't be a big deal at all. Jensen and Jared would just be amazing. We all know that.
So, with all that in mind, I can't help but just be super optimistic. I have faith it'll be good. I just still can't believe it's happening. Just when I've gone crazy thinking Supernatural is this super under-rated show, this turns up. This could be real good guys. Supernatural could definitely use more exposure. And how many live action shows nowadays can say they're going to have their own anime?? FUCK. THIS IS AWESOME.
