I can't stand it when people use "loose" instead of "lose," and I swear that half of my professors do it. You don't "loose" lecture time, you "lose" it.
Another pet peeve: affect/effect; when you're using it as a verb, it's AFFECT; a noun, EFFECT. It really shouldn't be that difficult, but yet it is.
Winter break countdown: 9 days. It can't come soon enough.
