Community and Website: We're Not Going Anywhere...
Hi all. Because of some messages I received, I wanted to put a note out that I have no intentions of closing savecolby, any of my other communities, nor do I intend to close DylanBruno-Online.net.
I admit that I considered taking down the website this year, mostly because I can't seem to find the time to update and it costs about $100 every year (soon to be more because holy crap I am getting a lot of spam and spam protection is extra.) But when I really thought about it - I simply couldn't bear not having the site anymore. That was when I also decided to cut myself some slack for all fandom related activities.
As of April 1, I have been in my new residence and my new job for 8 months. Eight months! In about the same amount of time it takes to conceive and birth a full gestation human child, I have sold a house, moved to an apartment, got a new job in a different environment and field of study, moved halfway across the country, adjusted to my role in my new job getting considerably bigger just 2 months after I started, took on more responsibilities, became active in volunteer organizations in my new residence, traveled to Germany for said new job and responsibilities (I just got back yesterday), and in general finally started enjoying life after what I call "Two Years in Hell on Earth: The Tale of a Never Again Arkansas Resident." So, I haven't had time to update a site or be active in my online communities? Um... that's okay. And the same goes for all of you! Life happens! Sometimes it's amazing, sometimes it totally pulls a vacuum (aka, it sucks!)... but it does get better. I know some of you are still active in Numb3rs, still love it; some of you are still learning and discovering the series. A lot of folks have moved over to Tumblr and DreamWidth (and you can always share posts from here on either of those sites!) I am under no illusion that this community will ever be as active again as it was... but it will still be here should you all need it to be.
As for my intentions, my muse is starting to come out of hiding and I am feeling more inspired by N3 than I have in a while. I have other shows and voices for stories in my head now, but Numb3rs remains at the center of my heart. This was the show that introduced me to fandom, introduced me to all of you. I hope in the coming months and years, you will see me here again more and more. You will see updates on the site (Dylan seems to be picking up more and more roles so yay!) I will find the balance of life, love, and fandom. I'm just out of practice. I'll get there. It is still a priority.
Anyway, I hope this finds you all well and smiling with little buds of fandom delights blossoming in your hearts and minds. Remember, as long as it's Colby or Dylan related, it is and will be welcome here as long as LJ exists.
