Someone refers to Colby's jail time POST Trust Metric

May 02, 2011 20:28

Ok, I'm *sure* I read about this somewhere but I've gone through some of the inquiry tags and don't see it.

Isn't there a line in an episode post TM that has someone, maybe the bad guy, referring to Colby's time in prison?  I really need some direction or a straight out answer because it's for the mini big bang.

Thanks all!

Um, what exactly are you asking about? His actual experience in prison or the amount of time spent?

There is next to nothing on the first. We know Dwayne was in solitary confinement but otherwise....

It's "5 weeks" between Janus List and Trust Metric. Alan tells Don he needs to quit watching the video of Colby's confession. That's it had been five weeks and he needed to let it go.

And that's about all there is.

The only other mention was... maybe 6.08 Ultimatum when Ian makes a reference to Colby understanding what he was doing and Colby replying what Ian is going through is nothing like what Colby went through.

In case you didn't get my reply to Karahkwa:

Hhhmmm... Ok... well... let's try... is there a FIC somewhere where a bad guy is being led away by someone who says something derogatory about Colby's time in jail or something? ... Maybe it leads Don to talking to Colby about what happened to him while he was in prison?

If there is a fic, I don't know about it. I'm guilty of not reading fic as much as I did 3 years ago... and I'm chalking that up to not having time. God, it's May 3rd already and I wanted to do something with the communities. Where does it all go?

Also, IIRC in Trust Metric Colby says to his handler (before he gives him the handcuff key in the glass of water) that he'd "not spent 3 weeks in solitary confinement to give up now".

Most people would probably remember this episode better than me. I think I watched it the first time it aired and then once again on mute to make screencaps and that was it. I don't remember him saying anything about solitary confinement though. I'm pretty sure Dwayne did... but... yeah. I'm gonna leave this one up to people who can actually stomach to watch this episode again. It's been years and it still makes me want to puke.

I'll check tomorrow, but I'm fairly sure that's what he says. I can't remember what Dwayne says about it all though lol.

Found what I was thinking of. I was wrong about it being Colby that said it. It's actually Dwayne Carter when they're in the van being transferred. He's being an ass to the guards and Colby says, "Don't you ever shut up?"
Dwayne replies, "Solitary confinement for 3 weeks, conversations been a little thin. Excuse me for being social."

I guess I'd assumed the same would be true for Colby, however, if it's been 5 weeks since 'Janus List' then they didn't both automatically get put in solitary. Perhaps something happened that Dwayne was involved with, or they didn't want them talking to outsiders once they started the transfer process, so they were both put in solitary. Either is possible.

I don't remember him saying that, but I do remember him saying something like "I didn't spend the last two years lying to everyone to quit now"... I guess I'll have to watch the ep again to get it all.

And, karahkwa was right, it *was* a fic; one that hasn't been completed so... score one more for mixing canon with fanon /laugh.

Thanks everyone :)

There is a fic along those lines. I'm not sure if it's finished or not. It was still a WiP when I read it last.
