Ok, so there is a new episode of Numb3rs on TOMORROW (Friday, 10pm EST) and I'm just now opening the Episode Discussion thread here for anyone who wants to share thoughts on the last episode: Where Credit's Due. I just got around to watching the episode yesterday. Sorry it took me so long.
My reactions and thoughts are behind the cut. Comment on them or just leave your thoughts and questions for others to read and discuss (or not, considering how late I am.) Please limit Episode Discussions for 6.04 to this post to avoid spoilers, confusion, etc.
And on that note, just in case you didn't catch it, there WILL be SPOILERS for Episode 6.04 Where Credit's Due behind the cut AND in the comments. DO NOT go past this point if you don't want to know! You were warned.
A couple people mentioned that this wasn't really a great episode of Numb3rs but personally, it was my favorite of the season as far as the case goes. I really thought the murder by movie plot was pretty cool. I also find it highly amusing when actors have to pretend to not know anything about acting (like when Colby said something about the suspect being a grip "whatever that is." haha.)
~ Was glad to FINALLY see an Alan story line that didn't make me say "Um, what's the point?" Now the job/money situation becomes clear. I don't know why I didn't make the connection about him wanting to move out when Charlie and Amita get married.
~ I am a fan of Charlie and Amita, but I won't lie... Charlie trying to be sexy there in the garage made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. I'm perfectly content with believing theirs is a sexless relationship. haha.
~ Larry. I am not even quite sure what to say about Larry. I kind of feel like Peter MacNicol got shorted by having such a lame story line for an exit. However, the end scene where Larry gets out to pick up his tickets and he looks up at the sky and sees all those stars... that scene took my breath away and I just knew Larry had found his place. I like the idea of him buying his own little piece of land somewhere between Pasadena and Vegas because that way, he's not that far away and can return.
~ David. Wow. He sure cursed a lot in this episode. Did anyone else think it was hot as hell when he said "Son of a bitch?" Whew. I was thinking the whole time that if Liz hears that dirty mouth, she's gonna want him to talk dirty in her ear. hehe.
~ Speaking of David and Liz, I'm going to kick David's ass for not going to the movies with her at the end. Come on! Dark movie theatre? Scary movie? David... what the hell?? Get some of that! (Ok, I'm sorry but that just had to be said. I can't control my David/Liz ship, the steering is out.)
~ Where was Don? I don't know what to say about his taking a "back seat" to every one else the past couple of episodes. That is to say, I don't like it without it being explained to us. I mean, I know that in Friendly Fire he was struggling with the corrupt agents and the stabbing... but I feel like he's hiding. That doesn't seem like the Don we know or the Don he was becoming in Season 5.
~ Missed Nikki this episode. Nikki and Liz are so pretty when they work together.
~ Last but never least, Colby. Guh. I want to go to LA, and HUG every one in the wardrobe department for putting him in the brown shirt with the snaps and the blue button down over those blue jeans. The whole episode I had a hard time paying attention to his lines because I couldn't stop thinking about how much I wanted to eat him. What? I'm just saying what we were all thinking.
~ Loved the scene at the end when David joked "Since when do you read?" and then Colby chasing after David to get the copy of the script so he could finish reading it. Boys. I ♥ them.
I'm sure there were other things to mention but since it's so late in the game, I'll just hush. :)
