In D.Gray-Man, one of Allen's special abilities is the ability to see the souls of Akuma as well as any dark matter/energy that may come from a person or an akuma. Normally, Allen won't be able to see much from Django. He embraces the sun, so that outshines the darkness in his heart almost all the time. The only times he will let that balance go is when he goes cray cray from plot or loss related events, or some munfudged things because Boktai has no daily life canon. Plot induced crazy are just forced crazy from darkness, ei Berserk Plot.
Munfudged things are just rare eclipse events whenever I remember they exist, but the only thing that I apparently made that would be related is Lunar Eclipse, which is just normal plot crazy. Django is actually smart enough now to take precaution against the eclipses, like forcefully locking himself in his room, but if you want to do something on those days if either of us remembers, hit me up.
Django's dark energy is primarily from vampire blood running through his veins, so there would be an almost invisible haze around him at all times (whether or not it's completely invisible in the light is up to you), some more concentrated in his main arteries, and the main source is at his heart. As said in 4, the more crazy he gets, the darker the haze.
